BREAKING THE SILOS OF DIVERSE WOMEN MAKING AN IMPACT IN CENTRAL FLORIDA

Updated: Jun 24, 2020

Time for T.E.A. Orlando Brings Together 100 Influential Women for a

Premiere Tea and Partnership Experience

ORLANDO, FL- On Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11:45 a.m., over 100 influential women in Central Florida will gather at Dove Cote Restaurant in Downtown Orlando (390 N Orange Ave #110, Orlando, FL 32801), for the fourth consecutive premiere women’s event, Time for T.E.A., Talk, Empower, and Affirm. This year’s theme: Lost and Now Found encompasses the mind. Janie Lacy, nationally recognized psychotherapist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor, serves as the 2019 keynote and has provided over a decade of psychotherapy work and expert knowledge to audiences via on-air appearances and conference settings.

“Breaking the silos in a fun and unique way,” is how Time for T.E.A. founder Tracey Phipps described the elegantly curated event. Time for T.E.A. was founded in September 2017 by Tracey. Moving to Orlando from New York City in April 2016, Tracey discovered something about the women of Central Florida that was captivating. The hustle, the mindset, the energy and drive to pursue an ideal was immeasurable. As a stranger to the south, Tracey immediately felt the community of women who embraced her on her new journey. Although things appeared perfect, she noticed there was something missing, diversity in partnerships. As a learned world traveler, Tracey knew the power of stepping outside of her Dominican heritage and sitting at a table with people who looked nothing like her.  After meeting a diverse group of women in Orlando, Tracey thought about the magic that would occur if they all met. This sparked an idea, and therefore Time for T.E.A. was birthed.

Fast forward, Time for T.E.A. has emerged from 40 women to over 100 powerful women who bring various industry knowledge, diversity in culture, and socioeconomic backgrounds, to engage in topical thought provoking conversations over a unique tea ceremony, applicable philosophies, and affirmations.

This year, Time for T.E.A. is partnering with The Greatest Investment Girls Empowerment Program and PACE Center for Girls to share this unique experience with 20 teenage girls. The teen participants will have the opportunity to sit among the 12 Elite Guests and utilize skills that they have learned through etiquette training and networking.

Elite Guests for this year’s event includes: Kay Rawlins, Courtney Shaw, Alexandria Gordon, Candita Bryan, Nadine Mentor, Cyndi Shifrel, Tekoa Pouerie, Arlene Blake, Sunnie Templeton, Nina Odiva, and Jazmin Bailey. Attendees and elite guests have the opportunity to network and share through table discussion(s) related to subject matter expertise, stories of strength, perseverance, breaking glass ceilings, and for some overcoming hardships.
